You asked for Theatery food all day and now that we have built seating for 80 on the Hale Cocoa's outdoor newly finished lanai, you can enjoy amazing food for breakfast, lunch or brunch!
This is not a normal brunch joint. If we are serving in the House of Chocolate, we are adding to our Hawaiian and French styles seen at the Theatery with usages of cacao in each dish, often borrowing from Central American influences where an entire cuisine was built with cacao as a savory foundation centuries before we discovered what happened when adding sugar.

If you come on Thursdays, you can enjoy our normal menu or choose the 7-course Chef Tasting experience.

"Dinner & a Movie" Nights with Aloha Theater
The Theatery has launched movie nights for the South Kona community on evenings at the Aloha Theater when there are no live events scheduled.

Large Parties and Events
Large Parties over 12 guests
Due to the size of our restaurant, we must limit online reservations by parties to 12 as a maximum. Larger groups can severely impact the service and seating of other customers therefore we must reserve by phone or email in advance.
If you wish to book 13 or more people, please read the following rules and let us know if this sounds like the right venue for you:
- Someone must be the designated host and make contact with the restaurant as well as pay the deposit.
- No separate checks. We can take separate payments, however, only one check will be issued to the host who can organize and communicate to the server(s) how much to charge each form of payment (cash and credit cards).
- No parties over 12 can be booked on sale day.
- For parties before 7pm, the mimimum food & beverage charge is $50 per person. Large parties tend to stay longer than two hours and can prevent other customers from dining and reduce the revenue the restaurant would earn without the party.
- For parties after 7pm, the minimum charge is $30 per person. This amount will be applied to your bill.
- There will be an additional section charge ranging from $250-$2000 depending on the size of the room you will need reserved for you party.
- Individuals must order from their assigned servers and stay in their section. Please do not roam the restaurant or the bar as it may disrupt other guests. For this reason, we recommend that large parties book an entire section so that they may move about freely and mingle without impacting other guests' experiences.
- A deposit of $25 per person for events before 7pm and $15 per person for events after 7pm plus 50% of the room fee must be paid at time of booking. The booking is refundable up to 96 hours prior to the event. It is non-refundable within 96 hours of the event. This amount will be credited to your final bill.
- Some menu items may be unavailable due to the longer cook length (no cook-to-temp steaks, oysters). If you would like a prix fixe menu offerred, please let us know.
- Party will be served in 10-person-paces. We will serve plates in 10-person batches up to 15 minutes apart. For example, if you have 20 guests, we will serve the first 10 before serving the second group of 10, up to 15 minutes apart. We will make our best effort to serve as closely together however, due to the size of the kitchen, we cannot retain large orders and keep them heated properly for one mass serving.
- We will ask all guests to leave by 10:30pm. If you would like later bar service, please inquire about this feature.
- 20% gratuity will be added.

Please anticipate a minimum charge of $100 per person and an overall minimum charge of $4500. 18% gratuity and Hawaii sales tax will also be added.

Anniversaries & Birthdays
Celebrate with us!
We would be thrilled if you spent your special moments such as birthdays and anniversaries with us. To help celebrate, we happily add a 3oz serving of sparkling wine for each guest at the end of your meal. We will add a candle and rally "Happy Birthday" singing if you buy dessert. We will finish by presenting a $15 gift card to be used on your next visit.
Your bill must be a minimum of $100 to receive complimentary sparkling wine and gift card service. For birthdays, please be prepared to provide proof of the birthdate occuring +/- 2 days of the date of your visit during your visit.
